The celestial sphere is divided into northern hemisphere and southern hemisphere with each hemisphere divided into four six-hour arcs. It is symbolized by using the capital letter N or S, followed by Q for quadrant, and quadrant numbers 1, 2, 3, or 4.
Q = 17
North / South = Up / Down
4 six hour arcs = 24
In 2009 it was announced that GJ 1214, a star in Ophicuchus, undergoes repeated, cyclical dimming with a period of about 1.5 days consistent with the transit of a small orbiting planet. Further, the authors conclude that the planet must have a low density consistent with vast quantities of water. The proximity of this star to Earth (42 light years) makes it a tempting target for further astronomic observations.
Hades, god of the Underworld, began to realize that the flow of dead souls into his domain would soon dry up if this technique became widely known. He complained to his brother god Zeus who struck down Asclepius with a thunderbolt. Apollo was outraged at this harsh treatment of his son and retaliated by killing the three Cyclopes who forged Zeus’ thunderbolts. To mollify Apollo, Zeus made Asclepius immortal (in the circumstances he could hardly bring him back to life again) and set him among the stars as the constellation Ophiuchus.
